this morning’s sunrise

Caught a glimpse of this out my back window as the sun rose this morning, so rushed out in bare feet and pj’s (it was a crisp 32˚) to snap a picture.

Reminds me of life — darkness and light, sometimes at the same time. Always trying to keep my eye on the light.

In a not-really-related story, decided to impose my own fairness on the debate tonight by, when the speaker’s time was up but they continued to talk, going “Nah-nah-nah-nah-nah-nah-nah. . ” as loud as I could. It really helped.

Have a happy day!

🙂

Oh wow! What a beautiful image…and an even better related life-outlook metaphor.
Not quite so sure about the approach to the debate, though 🙂

Well, if they’re not going to come up with a way to make presidential candidates comply with rules high schoolers are expected to, something has to be done. They could just turn off their mic’s, or start blasting heavy metal over them. If they can get people to stop talking at the Oscars, it seems like they could do it here.

Your problem, Sheriji, is that you’re not cynical enough! You’re too much of an optimist; hoping that if you just give the person another chance, they’ll change their behavior and become more thoughtful, considerate, and fair-minded. Unfortunately, I don’t think those things are rewarded in our western societies.

You’re exactly right! In all respects. I’ve actually wondered if it’s possible to be both cynical and optimistic, because I believe/trust almost no one, while firmly believing that the best thing might actually happen, if I can just think of the exactly right thing to do or say.

          Sigh.

Given the old joke about how you can tell a politician is lying (their lips are moving), couldn’t you have saved time just by hitting mute right at the beginning? Or (here’s a novel thought)… just turning the gogglebox off and reading a good book. And “good” being a relative term, that might also include a dictionary! Lots of good words in there… plot’s a bit thin though.
