It tells me that he either doesn’t know how to connect with mainstream America or, worse, doesn’t care enough to make the effort. He’s sitting at a table of voters, ordinary people, but his body language (and faux pas) demonstrate that he’s very uncomfortable. That’s only one reason why I’m warm to the other guy!
I can’t help but wonder — here he is, knowing that he’s in the actual situation of actual campaigning, actually talking to actual potential voters, and obvously being videotaped, so one would imagine that this is him being CAREful; and this is what he says. Imagine if he were to let his guard down and say what he really thinks.
